Remove the paper over the glue. The boxes look good and are quite stable. The magnetic closure is rather weak. This will prevent the doors from opening while the crate is in it, but if you move it around a lot, well, it didn't seem all that strong. Probably the reason you consider these boxes over other gift boxes is because of the lighting that comes with them. In the package you will receive two boxes, four fairy lights that light up or light up when the lock is pulled out when opening the box (see video on this), box tape, and some decorative shredded paper along with some small gift tags. Although the boxes are strong, the fixings aren't as strong. Each had a small piece of paper that you pull out, presumably to allow the lights to make contact with the battery and then light up when the contact lever is lifted when the box is opened. The clasps that attach to the inside edge of the box are not very secure. It's a thin metal that bends easily and may or may not stay in place if the recipient gift-wrapped it and shipped it via USPS, UPS, or some other shipping company. When I pulled out the paper and opened and closed the contact that occurs when opening the box, the light sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. Sometimes they appeared, but not very brightly. The video shows when they were working properly and turned on at full brightness. If they really work when you send them to the recipient it will be a pretty cool effect. If they don't, it's just going to be weird to have a string of lights so thin it looks like weird wire in a box. Bottom line they're pretty cool, not sure if they'll work properly when I'm sending something in this box and the wire is really thin. If you don't send this and can carefully set up and fix the light, there's a good chance it's working properly. Some of them with what looks like shredded paper. It is not enough to crate or pack something, but it is enough to cover the bottom or the top (if filled with things) for a decorative effect. In general, the boxes are strong, the magnetic closure is not so good, the bulbs are a bit finicky and may not survive shipping if this box is full of gifts. If you're willing to shell out a few bucks more for the lights then this is probably a good buy. If you want solid, nice looking boxes (as they are) but need a strong magnetic closure, then you can choose non-lit boxes that have a stronger magnetic closure.
