Review on Black BAOFENG UV-5R Dual Band Two-Way Radio by Gary Stringfield

Very well built. Not cheaply made. Feels solid and doesn't look like a toy. Works exactly as described. I can only say good things about him. I was able to turn on the repeater about ten miles from my home. You wouldn't get that kind of floor-to-floor clearance. With the included rubber ducky, I only got from walkie-talkie to walkie-talkie about half a mile. But I never expected more. It sits flush with my 2m pld jtx-202 and my 2m alinco. Unfortunately, the ham group in my area broke up shortly after my purchase. Ideal for many applications. Just make sure you're legal. Where I live, the bands are always silent. Police/fire brigades use either cell phones or digital broadband. Tourists don't use radios either. Not a sound from the boatmen. Rschunimagu. Bought to hear the police and tourist activity but nada. Nevertheless, I can only recommend this radio. Works great, great sound and battery life. Feels real, not like a toy. This is a real radio that even transmits on the police frequency. Be careful and check your frequency. It won't take long to find you if you goof around with the authorities. Overall grade 1+!
