. There is an old JF200 3500 watt generator that I got cheap. There was a lot of smoke and knocking on takeoff, I pulled the head out and found a burned gasket, the gasket was very thin and unusual, 0.007 It looks like someone was there before me. Oil entered through the oil hole where the seal had ruptured. put in a new head gasket and adjusted the valves and it purred like a kitten. The knock went away too, I think the piston barely knocked on the head after warming up with this very thin head gasket. Maybe someone thought you could get more power by increasing the compression ratio?
