This lamp had many problems. Firstly, it was NO BRIGHTER THAN THE LAMP THAT WAS REPLACED BY A 4 YEAR OLD OSRAM (original type but from a third party). I bought a replacement from Revain 4 years ago and it has been great. Unfortunately, the company no longer sells Revain or has disappeared. The replacement was an Osram lamp, the same JVC lamp that was originally used in my RS-4810. It was bright and lasted for years under heavy use, plenty of time at high power as we don't have a darkroom. The replacement took just as long and when we replaced it it was a VERY noticeable change. I got lucky and found it for about $70. THIS lightbulb is a whole different experience. The brightness was no better, maybe even dimmer than that of a burned out lightbulb! And yes, I did a lamp reset as needed when I changed a lightbulb. In addition, there were other issues: 1. The lamp is off-center (tilted) so it doesn't shine evenly across the screen.2. Lamp and housing are qualitatively much cheaper. For example, in the Osram lamp, the porcelain part is encased in glass, which creates an additional thermal barrier and ensures that the parts do not move throughout their lifetime.3. During installation, the case was constantly jammed, it was difficult to sit down. When I pulled it out for a return, it also struggled, the old body fitting in smoothly. It's ok but indicates quality.4. The lamp reflector DOES NOT ALLOW PROPER COOLING! Look at the photos. The Osram bulb is cut to allow air to flow through the steel mesh. This cheap bulb blocks the flow by about 70%. This means that the light will go out in no time due to overheating! There's a reason the designers included these holes for airflow. I suspect that this company uses these lamps in several interchangeable housings for different models. One size doesn't fit all! Take a guess at how much you paid for your projector (mine was over $4,000), but NONE of them come cheap. Discard these lamps and buy an original type lamp. Now I spend another 30โฌ and get a GOOD replacement! EDIT: Just got my replacement and it's PERFECT. You don't have to spend $400+ to get a good one. This one costs about $100 and is an ORIGINAL PHILIPS LAMP IN RIGHT HOUSING! The change has been amazing, I mean REALLY amazing. The color rendering is first class, the reflector is well shaped and reflects noticeably better, the lamp is centered and encased in glass as it should be. When I turned on the projector my wife literally said WOW! and that was before I quickly dialed the number. Bright, superbly even light spread and the colors really popped. Throughout the night as we watched, we both continued to comment on how beautiful the picture was. Well worth the extra $25! Here's the one I got: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KTK4MZ3
