I think I liked the salmon (pink) color of the dial in contrast to the black hands in the photos on the web but as many have said the photos do not convey the full product. Very elegant yet modern, with a gray stripe around the dial and in the hand, it's impossible to admire the soft glow of the gold plating on the watch, ring, crown and chain. This watch stands out from most other watches which are just variations on a theme: 1/2 Savonnet, roman numerals in silver, gold, black, bronze - it's not - it's very quirky! Turn it over and you'll see that even the movement is different, but it needs to be wound every day for the main dial and smaller seconds hand to work. So far this watch has given me no problems and I have to admit that at least half of the problems I've had with mechanical watches have been my own - falling on a hard floor, pulling the stem too hard and rewinding - all my problems! Most of these clocks seem to be durable - even the clocks I've dropped (and misplaced the digit) did NOT stop working while I was fumbling with them to fix them! Nevertheless, you should treat them with care if you want to enjoy these relics of the past for a long time.
