I did a lot of research on record cleaners and narrowed down to this record friend from Big Fudge and Spin Clean. The name Big Fudge hit me hard. I mean, how do you get past a name like Big Fudge? Seriously, I didn't want to spend more than $400 for a clean machine with a motorized VPI, so I stuck with the manual type. It was a deal breaker that Fudge (I like to call it that) put this original record dryer in the bottom of a well built unit. Fudge also comes with 2 150ml bottles of cleaner and extra drying towels. Oh, that's also ten bucks less than the spin. Anyway, the thing really works and works well. I bought Dave Brubeck's Time Out at a record store, it was pretty loud. Well it's from 1959 what did you expect? I filled the fondant bowl with distilled water (need to use), put the cleaning pads and rollers in it, poured three caps with cleaning liquid, then wiped the record, turned 3 turns one way and 3 turns the other, with the provided cloth, Let it dry on the rack and put it on my player. Wow! Doesn't matter. I played this album when I first bought it and there was a lot of surface noise on it, a lot. But now, after the fudge treatment, it sounded really great. This device will not restore your vinyl to near-perfect condition, but it will convert VG to VG+ or G to VG. It really works. It's worth it. So if you're not sure which one to buy; Get off the fence and buy yourself a Big Fudge record, bro. So, after 2 days I see that the price has gone down. Damn; I called and was put through to a very nice customer service representative who arranged the loan. thanks amazon
