Review on RETROFLAG Raspberry Supply Cooling Heatsinks by Agustin Bush

The case is well made, solid and everything fits together well (Pi 4). I had a retropi with an SSD in a base case that caused the SSD to "loosen up". In this case everything is well packed and the SSD can be replaced without disassembling everything. The price is good if you think you want to include an SSD (HD) controller, power supply, etc. I had some issues and hope this helps others deal with it faster. I couldn't find any way to get support through the website (no email address or support form), which I recommend to improve communication. However, I was able to contact support through the Revain process to contact the vendor. However, since this process masks email addresses and doesn't allow attachments etc., the contact was clumsy. (I have to give Shirley 5 stars on GAMEROOM, she went out of her way to contact/solve issues, in the end all issues were resolved thanks to her). The product came with a card with a foxmail email address for support but I haven't received a reply from that address for several days not knowing what happened to it. The biggest technical issue I had was the disk controller not working properly with the Pi's USB v3 ports. Booting the Retropi took over 6 minutes while with an external controller it took 40 seconds. So there was an obvious problem: I found that if I plugged the controller into a USB v2 port, it would boot in 50 seconds. Shirley (mentioned above) got a retroflag to post a firmware update on her website, so in case you're having this issue. , go to the website and click on the NESPi4 image, scroll down to the SSD section and there I found a link to download the firmware update. The instructions are rough, but basically you plug the NESPi4 HD controller into a USB port on your computer (mine is windows based), then run the included exe file, select the firmware version and click one button to install the update. As a result, the loading time was 35 seconds. There is an update to the text file for loading the command that I've added, but I don't know if that makes a difference. Another reviewer stated that 2.4GHz WiFi doesn't work after building the case, I didn't notice the issue. , but my wireless station is nearby. However, the instructions state that 2.4G WiFi may be affected, so using a 5G WiFi connection is recommended. Finally, the safe shutdown works, but it initiates a shutdown/reboot, and when the system reboots after about 3-5 seconds from boot, the actual final shutdown occurs (i.e. the Pi is powered off and the fan is off). So you need to have a little patience to disable it. Overall the product is excellent for the price and the support team went out of their way to give me the information I needed, thank you very much! This is a DIY project so some patience is required and as this is such a new product I don't think updating the firmware is a big deal.
