I have two of these at home and at my dacha (where I work during the pandemic). I use them with my MacBook Pro. Each site uses an Apple TimeMachine drive with hourly incremental backups. The second device in each household is used for nightly Carbon Copy Cloner backups. Of course, everything is also backed up to my 10TB iCould storage and Microsoft OneDrive. So far all four of these drives are very reliable. I had older smaller versions (2TB) that worked for years. I also have a 5 TB version.
