Review on SONY MDR-Z1R WW2 Signature: Superior Sound Quality in Black (International Version) by Wiktor Barczuk ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A really necessary purchase, I'm glad I found this product.

To be honest, I have been listening to hard rock almost all my life, so bass has always been the main criterion for me. Ah, the last headphone for 15 years is the Sennheiser HD650. (There were others, but also Sennheiser and Sony). This explained my search for "meaty" headphones with oaky bass, which I spent a week on. I thought that from the first call I would easily make a choice. Wrong, and big. Perhaps, I listened to almost all more / less significant headphones, starting with Sennh . Hd660, 700, 800, Beyerdynamics, Audio-Technica and others, priced from 30 to 80 None of them had even close bass like Senn.650! The idea arose to buy the 650s again, but . All other headphones were "a floor above" in price . I bought a Denon 7200, listened at home, and yet (with a creak) I handed it back. No, the headphones are great, and the sound is much more detailed than Senn's, but my problem remained. Continuing to rise in prices - Audeze - LSD-2, LSD-X, GX, Fostex 909, Sony MDR-z7m2 (I almost bought it), I came across very almost invisible (literally) Sony MDR Z1R, where the bass seemed really worthwhile . But, with such a sore head after a 3-hour test, I could not listen to anything else. The next day I bought a Sony MDR Z1R. Their real advantages have already been described above, and all this is true (with the exception of 2-3 incorrect comments), but, most importantly, I solved my problem with bass! And, in addition, I received an equally magnificent middle, high, deep stage and high power 2x2500mW (IEC). By the way, Luxman SQ N150, Luxman L550AX amplifiers took part in the tests. . but someday I will put a monument to Sennheiser HD650 headphones!

Pros
  • Really expensive, deep and spacious sound.
Cons
  • Practically not significant.
