I think 7x is perfect for my needs. Another reviewer stated that the 10x magnification was too high. I checked with a local shop and I agree. The arm works well, not too loose or tight. The chrome finish matches other chrome finishes in our bathroom. I am very happy with my purchase and am planning to make another purchase.
