Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Experience Next-Level Gaming Audio with Creative Sound Blaster Z SE Internal PCI-e Sound Card and DAC by Mateusz Grabowski แ Œ

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality is fine, it's fine to use.

Bought because of the digital SPDIF input. I write music, the input is needed to connect an external KORG synthesizer. It turned out that the card comes with a completely crooked software called SoundBlaster Command. When connected to the input, I found a very large sound delay. When you turn off the effects processing in the control panel, the delay becomes less, but does not go away. It still remains very large, about 100ms, which is completely unacceptable for musicians. Changing the sampling doesn't help. It is clear that the new creative driver cannot completely disable the rendering engine. Therefore, there is a lag. I got into the net and found a bunch of reviews from foreigners that there was a delay in the new generation of "SoundBlaster Command" software. No way to cure. Those who upgraded the old control panel from Control Panel to "SoundBlaster Command" got a delay. And it is on all inputs, including microphone and LineIn. People complain that it's impossible to record guitar or sing. And I have a complete hat with the synthesizer. Can't be used. Due to the delay at the entrance, the card is completely unusable for musicians. Be careful.

Pros
  • Sound quality is good, SPDIF input (which turned out to be a sham)
Cons
  • Curve audio software with non-switchable processing processor.
