WavLink Docking Station

The VGA port on the Wavlink Docking Station was not working with my ViewSonic 2246 monitor. Worked for about 3 hours and then shut down. I bought an HP VH240a and hooked it up via HDMI and it works great. Now I'm worried that I didn't buy a monitor warranty. I read that it stops working after about 4-5 months.
