Not the best choice for protecting tomatoes from insects
Believe it or not, one gardening group suggested putting them around small tomatoes to keep critters from chewing on them. They did their job - none of the tomatoes I've used them on suffered from chewing - and they stayed on the tomato branches, but it was difficult to disengage them when I tried to pick the tomatoes and the tomatoes dripped with the Insides of the tomatoes were despicable. . I will use them until the ones I bought run out but will look for an alternative when they run out.
