Replacing the original gasket on a Fagor pressure cooker purchased in 2000.1) Cannot reach full pressure because the gasket will fail before full pressure is built up and steam will escape around the gasket.2) Unlike the original gasket, this gasket will do not lock from the cover flanges. Even if this were the case, it would result in blind mating of the parts, making one wonder if the gasket was installed correctly. This liner is placed around the rim of the pot and then the lid is placed/attached over the liner. I was wondering if the lid flanges would catch on the gasket when the lid was placed on the pot. Checking if the pad is properly seated is not easy and I would feel uncomfortable every time using the pressure cooker.
