Update December 2020 I bought a second one because my display broke. It's the same as the old one except the alarm is NOT as loud. I can hear the old beep when I'm on the other side of the house with the door closed and the TV on. In this situation, I don't hear a new beep unless the TV is turned off. the display is waterproof, you have chosen a cheaper alarm clock. On the plus side, C batteries were included. Sturdy and big. There is a button for HR, MIN and SEC. If you want to measure something down to 3 minutes, press the MIN button three times. If you want to measure something for 45 minutes, you can press and hold the MIN button and the numbers will scroll, so you don't have to press the button 45 times. While the timer is counting down, if you want to add more time, you must first stop it with the red button on top, then add more time. Start the countdown again with the red button. The timer sound is definitely loud enough that I can hear it throughout my 1600 square feet. foot of the house and through a closed solid wood door. I can even hear from outside if I'm near the kitchen window where I'm sitting. batteries all the time. A button on the top to turn off is handy when your hands are full. You can regulate the volume to the point of shutting it down and just rely on the flashing red light when you want. Also, the counter keeps counting past zero, which can be useful in some cases. For example, if you are not sure when time first started, it will show you how much time has passed. Or, if what I'm cooking isn't quite ready and needs a few more minutes, I turn off the annoying noise and let the timer continue. I use it most often for cooking. Sometimes I need more than one time and have bought a smaller timer from the same company. (See the attached video and photo to see the difference in size and hear the alarms.) Any time I don't want to forget something, I just set this timer. for example, a reminder to turn off the stove when drying a cast-iron skillet. In the summer, I used the clock button to remind myself to move the water sprinkler in the yard. You can set the volume very low or even off. I just hold mine up all the time so I don't have to worry. It's a piercing beep-beep, beep-beep. ATTENTION! ITEM IS NOT WATER RESISTANT. When I reached for it, I dripped some water onto it from my wet hand and it destroyed the top half of the LCD after the warranty expired. I didn't find paying $75 for a replacement annoying enough. However, it's half the size now (December 2020) so I'm buying a replacement. The warranty is two years and it is made in China.
