This microscope is definitely worth it. I've experimented with USB microscopes in the past and they've certainly come a long way. However, I will say that it has many great features that really stand out: 1. The picture quality is great! I know these ads are often photoshopped with "perfect" images on screen, but this really delivers on that quality! The screen is very high quality 1080p. I don't see those gaps between pixels like I see on cheap LCDs.3. With the remote control you can take pictures and videos without shaking! The camera focus ring is the entire body of the camera. It doesn't seem to matter until you use it and realize that your lights can sometimes block the smaller focus ring. It's just so simple and easy to use. The base works independently of the camera and the lighting is SUPER bright. You can get all sorts of angles trying to highlight the topography by throwing light at small angles. I also like that you can tilt the camera backwards as in many cases you don't want to be looking directly at your work. My only criticism is that I wish they had used a quick release handle instead of a hex nut on the inclined part. If you want to swing it back, you'll need a wrench. (Too bad) I also wish the glideslope was about 1 inch higher, but it's fully usable as is. Overall I am delighted with this part. Tomlov shipped me $149. " :)
