Great compact keyboard

This thing is really amazing for the price. For about a year I considered upgrading to a keyboard without ten keys, and this one suited me. This is a replacement for the 2012 Razer Blackwidow with Cherry mx Blue switches which eventually annoyed me enough that I was replaced after I had another gin and tonic and was not brought back to life unscathed. I miss the blue switches a bit, but the red ones are much quieter and better for the desktop mic I have. I chose Corsair because I was fed up with the Razer software and they don't use real Cherry switches anymore. I bought my son-in-law a Corsair keyboard a few years ago and was really impressed with the build quality and functionality they achieved without having the hassle of broken cloud software to keep the keyboard working (I look at you, Razer; I'm genuinely amazed at how they simultaneously produce some of the best hardware and the worst software to damage that hardware). I'm familiar with the build quality because my sister asked me 3 times to fix her husband's keyboard. First, because he drank a glass of wine, then a Jack and a Coke, and finally a whole bottle of wine (keyboard players in my family have a drinking problem, don't ask). What's really impressive when he drank the bottle is that my sister was in Vegas at the time and when she called to ask what to do I told her to unplug and put in a box , and I'll see what she can do when he brings it home. After 3 months she finally got it and it was moldy and gross. I took it apart, soaked it in alcohol overnight, wiped it down thoroughly, and rinsed it thoroughly with distilled water. After reassembling and lubricating the switches, you would not know that he has endured such horrific treatment.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Expensive
