I would have to make a cut to use this bite valve so I used the bite valve from the bit I was replacing. Both ends of the nozzle fit my platypus tube snugly, so that's not a problem. I also had trouble turning the valve on and off. The first time someone else did it for me. After that, it's still tiring, but not impossible.
