With an effort, a small jar of brine opened, spurting juice. Another expensive item is not used.
Elasticity and transparency Don't know. These items are very well made but the jar opener requires a lot of force and once I used it after a lot of effort when a SMALL pickle jar finally cracked open and squirted juice. Do not buy. I haven't used the smaller element yet. I opened it so I didn't return it but returned another one bought as a gift. The smaller item can be purchased separately but is overpriced for what it does!
