Over the years I have tried many different pumps to remove oil from lawn mowers, pressure washers, snow blowers, ATVs and so on. Every spring 5 or 6 hours dirty oil is changed. I like to drain as much oil as possible before removing the drain plug to keep oily mess to a minimum. None of the other pumps worked as well as I expected. Hand bulb pumps work halfway. The 12 volt pumps seem to work, but the ones I used stopped working after about the fifth use. On the other hand, this pump works great, even better than I had hoped. It is easy to use, connect, drain and drain oil. It's a little pricey but worth it. The set contains straws for the extractor with different diameters, 2 feet long. Basically, you connect the main straw and then attach smaller ones to it as needed. Insert into the oil filler opening, fix and put the hand pump into operation. The oil exits through the straws into the pump housing. Then disconnect and remove the straw and drain the used oil. A compressor connection is provided for larger jobs so that a hand pump is not required.
