It has a good strong grip I'll say it. But the fingers that grip the noodles are just flexible silicone that just flex when you pick up the noodles. I must have looked at 20 different pasta scoops on Amazon. I didn't think it would be so difficult to make a sturdy tool that can efficiently scoop pasta out of the pan. It does the job, but it's far from perfect.
