Cheap plastic, hardly hold up on their own. If you can get them to stand up, place the trees side by side, as the slightest tug on the cord or a light breeze can knock them over. I have them in my yard and I feel the stakes hold them up well, but you still can't space the trees far apart. If these trees were free I wouldn't recommend them. If they paid you $20 to take the trees, I would pocket the $20 and throw the trees away immediately. They will go to the trash when they see the end of Christmas.
