I needed a built in switch because my wife's touch makeup mirror stopped working and I've never read a good review of a replacement touch control. It's easy to turn on and off, so it's probably a lot more reliable. There are no instructions, but if you need them, you should probably ask someone for them. The only difficulty is getting the wires through the notched holes under the connectors. It seems to work better with solid wire than stranded wire, or maybe 22 gauge rather than regular tubing. As someone else mentioned, it's very hard to see tiny holes. I needed two pairs of reading glasses and a bright light. Anyway, I guess since it works and seems pretty solid I shouldn't complain. I wish we didn't have to travel to China for such a simple product. .
