I'm in Pennsylvania right now where it's 3 degrees outside and it's windy because 3 degrees isn't brutal enough. It's cold outside, colder than a mother in law kiss lol. I can tell you that I really like this combination of hat, scarf and mittens! Unfortunately, I still smoke and freeze on the streets, even going to the grocery store is just awful. This thing works great for me, although I can't drive with the hood on because it blocks my peripheral vision. It covers my entire head and about the same area of my face as the picture. The scarf is also nice and wide in the neck, thus preventing cold drafts from penetrating through the coat collar. The scarf fits comfortably around my neck and keeps the wind out. Although one side of the scarf is much longer than the other, it becomes perfect because when you wrap the scarf around your neck it then covers ALL exposed parts of your neck making both sides equal in length when worn this way. Worn like this, the mittens fit perfectly on the ends of the scarf.
