Let me get on with things I LOVE these shades: Color (corn) fine, light cream/yellow. Textured fabric is stylish and attractive. These curtains are great at filtering the light and are exactly what I was looking for: something to brighten my windows during the day and provide privacy at night. Now for the CONS: First, at 23" width, the fabric is actually almost 2" narrower than the window (21.25" fabric width). It took me a while to get used to it at first as the custom shades, that I replaced were less than 1/2" apart on either side. But you sacrifice width when you make an internal mount. I decided the sacrifice was worth it considering how much I love the fabric. Second "As other reviewers have pointed out, the hardware is cheap. The look of the plastic chain doesn't put me off (because it's better than a stainless steel camouflage on my ivory window frame) but you have to be careful with it to keep it running smoothly. The ball chain shines shift around the "gear" mechanism if you pull too hard or too fast. They're probably best for windows where you don't open/close the blinds on a daily basis. I will I'd probably "fix" this by taking the fabric off and swapping it with my 23" blinds in my bedroom, which I rarely open (but have much stronger hardware). I suppose you could also try replacing the plastic ball chain with a piece of stainless steel ball chain to see if that runs smoother (a solution I might also consider). Finally, the size of the blinds is really very close to 64 inches long. That way the pad is only covered by a tiny bit of fabric when fully on my 63-inch windows. Expect to re-glue them at some point. All in all, I was happy to find such attractive fabric lampshades with good filtering ability at a fraction of the cost ($29 for 23 inches) of custom shades. So I will work with her limitations and admire her beauty! Hope. This rating will help others to decide.
