TL;DR is a very weak baseplate. Not the sturdy type like regular LEGO. I've never had a LEGO baseplate. I have a table that looks like a smaller version of LEGO MOVIE (I). Much smaller version. So I expected it to be very durable, especially since my kids were normal kids - rude with toys. Unfortunately, this base plate was very thin. It folded easily with minimal fuss and when it was shipped in bubble wrap I thought it was the book I ordered. However, if you took it in a horizontal position you would see it flex under its own light weight. It's about 1/16 inch thick and isn't made out of durable LEGO plastic. Suitable for adults or older children, but not for toddlers (for rough handling).
