I bought two of these devices. If I followed the instructions, started the machine empty and poured the contents while it was running, I had no problem making ice cream in 15 minutes. My problem is that after four uses, the nonstick coating starts to eat away at the metal powder on the surface of the bowl. If you look closely at the warranty, you have to pay for round-trip shipping to return the shells, which they may or may not replace at their discretion. I would call it a non-guarantee disguised as a guarantee.
