I bought this backpack because it looked like the perfect hiking backpack. I took this backpack on an overcast day and went for a walk along the creek (definitely not hot) but damn it my back got soaked to the skin. when I had finished! (Sweat was actually dripping down my shorts, there were so many of them). The "mesh" back panel is just a thin piece of mesh with thick foam padding underneath, it's not breathable at all! I loved every other aspect of this backpack, even the psychedelic lining and especially the waterproof bottom, but that "breathable" joke on the back was a deal breaker and had to be sent back.
