Review on OEMTOOLS 25318 Brake Bleeder Wrench by Jeff Jackson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

An extended wrench provides good leverage, but the packaging.

This is a good long wrench that provides leverage for a decent sized brake bleeder valve. I have other wrenches and wrenches of this size but not this length. Bought this in case I need it as working with brake bleeder fittings on older cars is a hassle. (If possible, use a penetrating oil that has been applied a few times before, as I've broken or rounded the fitting with other open-end wrenches.) However, a brake bleeder is easier to use than a socket wrench. / ratchet . One frustrating aspect of the key that doesn't detract from its use is the packaging. A typical cardboard backing with a clear plastic molded front. The plastic was yellowed, brittle and cracked on both ends where the key is wrapped. Some instruments packed in this way can be placed back in the packaging for storage. I have a tool box so it wasn't a big deal, not worth returning but if I gave it away it would look just like him and is an old item that has been sitting on a shelf for years. in the sunlight. A small sticker on the back reads "12/51/02", possibly a date code. I've bought auto parts online from other sellers and they present themselves more clearly, showing manufacturer approval and the absence or condition of packaging. As this key is 'new' the packaging looks old and the seller should be more specific about the packaging and reflect this in the price.

Pros
  • SPECIAL DESIGN: The wrench provides more contact with the air outlet and reduces the likelihood of a strong screw being stripped; Beveled drive ends make it easy to attach quickly to the bleeder screw
