The glasses have two disadvantages, one major and one minor, that the buyer must take into account. The first, and possibly most dangerous, is that they fog up like a car window. If it's cold outside and you've just left the house, it can take several blocks for the temperature in your goggles to match the temperature of the weather, and by then you're basically blind. At each stop sign, I adjust them and let in fresh air to speed up the process. Another thing is they have an adjustable elastic strap, which is fine, but the strap has a latch that you move up and down the strap to tighten or loosen it as needed. In my case, the latch is at that soft stop between my head and my ear - if I loosen it further they release, and if I press harder I can't blink - and after a while that place can be really painful and become sensitive. The use of a headscarf or skullcap is pretty much mandatory. They are good substitutes and work well as substitutes, but should not replace better gear. after all, it's protective gear.
