Review on πŸšͺ HASHI (4 inch, Satin Nickel) One-Touch Door Stopper - Height-Adjustable Rubber for Secure and Convenient Door Control by Tory Richardson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks good, easy to assemble, works as it should.

I needed this because our cat likes to push open the door with his shoulder when bursting into the room chasing imaginary mice. The door then has enough momentum to fully open and we have to get up to close it again, again leaving it open just enough for it to fly through the hole in the second round of the Invisible Mouse Chase. Antique bronze looks gorgeous on a coffee brown door. I think the spot could be called a nut I guess. There is a template on the box with three mounting holes on the back, but you really only need to adjust the top to get the correct clearance from the bottom. . The kit includes three bronze colored self-tapping screws that match the bronze colored finish quite well. I felt like there was one thing missing from the unit: a bumper to cushion the door stop from hitting the release lever and rotating against the mounting plate. I solved this problem by sticking a 3M self-adhesive bumper washer over the top mounting bolt (yellow arrow). This noise probably won't bother anyone unless you read about it in the Revain review. (Doh!) But the solution is quite simple. I think a slightly softer bumper washer might have worked better (they make gray foam), but I had those on hand. don't blast the door wide open to rid the world of invisible rodents.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
