An interesting set of knives. For the money I wasn't expecting much more than a few useful kitchen knives until I could invest in something more expensive. The knife block is made of wood with a black rubber coating and a marble texture. As you can see from the photo, it goes pretty well with my countertops. Knives I thought were black but are actually more of a copper color and despite claims they were slightly worn and scratched but not too deep. I actually think copper is better than black but was surprised to find it different from what was originally ordered. The sharpness is on par and they cut decently for a stainless steel blade. It's not high carbon steel or anything, but it does what I need and for $30 it's a good value. Overall I'm reasonably satisfied and the knives will work well until I can save up for a $400 set of chef's knives. .
