I used to buy a couple of walkie talkies very similar to these but they were terribly difficult because the kids would often press the wrong buttons and go to another changed channel and it was very difficult to reset the channel as there was another button with 5 more choices that would make it difficult for you to hear if you had the same channel but a different second choice. (Anyway, I gave up and put them in a drawer because I got tired of trying to decipher the instructions. I don't have time for that with kids.) In any case, they didn't have to make a second choice making it harder. . You have about 20 extra channels, but it's not hard to reset the channels if your kids accidentally click on them. When I buy walkie-talkies for kids, I DON'T WANT to study the instructions every five minutes trying to figure out why they aren't working properly. one for me, or could keep as a spare. So far so good and aside from the constant hissing and chirping of these things I'm very happy with it.
