I ordered shoes to help my dog who had a cruciate ligament rupture to help TRY overcome a nerve complication that was causing him to buckle. I can't say it's working yet, but I'm trying to get him to sit up and use his leg with physical therapy. So I can't say it doesn't work either. This will be a long process as it has been an ongoing problem. My suggestion (unless your dog wears a leg brace like mine) is to try and get a shoe with a higher top and a lot more security from the top of the hoof to the bottom of his leg. It may also be that the Velcro is not wide enough or not strong enough. I'm not an expert. You just need to know that this is a sad situation and I wish there was a better solution. I have to assume the water repellency is ok as is the safety (?) in other more NORMAL situations. If the SELLER has any suggestions, it would be VERY PLEASANT to hear them. But I probably won't as I doubt they read those reviews. A very depressing situation. :( Another problem with them is that they rely on velcro to hold them and velcro holds everything in place. I personally despise velcro. :(
