The grip of these mats is excellent. The standard mats are knotted to the carpet in two places, causing the underlying carpet to deform under load. They cover a larger surface area than Weathertech mats. As for access to the throttle, I wouldn't worry. In any case, this helps to avoid dirt deposits in hard-to-reach places. If that bothers you, you can just cut out a section for better access to the throttle. The manufacturer has made this area easy to cut. They are made in the USA and you won't regret buying them.
