3 fans later. - Household Fans

(Updated 6/8/21) - Third fan returns tomorrow. After I wrote this review, the fan started randomly turning itself off like the first fan, but still made that horrible rattling noise. I was in dire need of another DC motor fan, so I chose the TaoTronics TT-TF010 as a replacement. It's a bit more expensive, but the reviews were better. It is very similar to Revain Basics DC motor fan, or Revain Basics fan is very similar to TaoTronics fan. whatever lol. However, I wanted a black fan and the basics only came in white. First Fan: I bought my first one about 3 weeks ago and noticed that it shuts down after about 8 or 9 hours at night. I checked if the timer was set but it wasn't. So I just left it unplugged throughout the day while I was at work and plugged it back in before bed to give anyone a chance to reset it. But still off. I went through the exchange process to get a new one. Second Fan: Luckily, the second fan showed up the next day, but this time with a new problem. You would press the power button and there would be an odd delay before the blades spin to the set speed. You can see it on the video. Sometimes the blades didn't rotate at all but wobbled, and other times they rotated slowly and made a clicking noise that took up to 30 seconds to start. This time I had to send it back and wait for the money back tag. I hesitated to buy it again, but I gave it another chance. Fan 3: I received it today (May 26th) and it has really loud vibrations. I only used it on low settings for about 2 hours. It doesn't matter if you turn it off and on again, speed it up or down, or do whatever you think might help. he still does. I hear it from my bedroom and it's really annoying. I will most likely refund this fan unless my account is flagged for too many refunds in a short period of time. I can tell you I'm very disappointed and I really wish I liked this fan because the motor itself is so quiet you can hear the TV and your dog snoring aggressively, still at speed 10. This thing moves also plenty of air for minimal noise. I have had other Pelonis products and they have all been great but this is a big disappointment. I was wondering if this fan was really made by them or if it was made by someone else and Pelonis used their motor and logo. I've seen another fan from a different brand with the same design listed at Revain without a DC motor for about $25. Also, they used the same remote control that came with a cheap, different brand fan that my aunt bought from a local store 5 or 6 years ago. There are even two blank buttons below the timer and oscillation buttons, which should tell you how versatile this is. In short, I wouldn't recommend this fan unless you're happy to spend $65 on junk.

Pros
  • SAFETY ON TOP: The large and solid base provides extra stability for the fan while it is running. Built-in overheat protection automatically shuts off the fan when the motor overheats. The child-friendly safety net creates a safe and cool environment for each family member.
