My last pepper grinder was a floor grinder and left ground pepper pulp all over. I was so fed up with this and was looking for a replacement. I scrambled to get these as I wasn't sure how regular salt would work. I'm here to report that this works well! I had to adjust the grinder in the lid a bit (very easy to do) to open the hole properly, but I'm happy with it. They are very smooth and look a lot nicer than my old wooden ones. Also, you can see when you're running low, which I wasn't able to do before. They were a lot bigger than I expected. Almost 7 1/2 inches tall. You can take a lot! I personally would prefer them to be a bit smaller and not take up as much space in my closet because they are still an upgrade for me.
