Pros: PL 880 works very well, connects SW stations with antenna attached, adds rolling wire and bingo, amazing reception, as good as my old DX 440. Sounded strong and smooth. The buttons make sense and I like the signal narrowing features. I also have a 660 and both work very well although the 880 is the higher end version I would use for personal listening and the 660 when kids are around but both work. I have no complaints about the work and quality of the electronics. The battery lasts about a week for 3 hours of listening a day. I bought extra travel batteries because I can't help but think there's always a place to charge. I would buy it again as a gift. Not really cons but annoyances: I like the pouch that comes with it, it only contains the radio not the earbuds and the USB power cord, and now because it doesn't have the same charger I have to buy a separate 660 charger USB cord device, when there is no computer, charger or solar charger. There is no space for accessories to store the radio, so there is a high possibility of losing it when traveling. A larger suitcase would be a good sign of forethought. Then the plastic ramp broke. One of the thin supports cracked and broke off. I couldn't take the 660 apart so I used a clothes hanger to make a replacement. I couldn't find any replacement parts online. I think that shows that I use the radio a lot. Verdict: It's compact and works well. It feels sturdy and looks good. I am happy.
