I wasn't sure what to expect but I took a chance as there isn't much choice when it comes to busy/quiet books. We just received it so I can't say how it will play out over time. Although sewing seems pretty safe. The main problem I see is that many parts have velcro but there is nothing on the sides for velcro to attach to (i.e. the other side of the velcro). fall off and get lost as they don't really stick to the sides. For example on the front in the video you can see 2 strips of velcro so assume all the fronts also have velcro on the back so they stick to those 2 strips and don't get lost. It's not relevant. The front panels sometimes catch a bit on the Velcro because the felt isn't entirely smooth, but they're by no means tight enough not to fall off immediately when the kids are carrying the book. I'll see if I can buy some Velcro adhesive dots to attach myself, but I'm really glad I didn't give them away. If you can find a good solution to the velcro problem, it will be a good activity for younger kids who can't do some of the activities from other silent movie books. (e.g. laces and ties, buttons, snaps, etc.) This book closes with a button on the back, but you can help younger children with that button.
