I purchased this lock specifically for the side pit lock core as this design is notoriously harder to pick. Now I'm a very inexperienced cracker. I've had the cheapest tools and maybe an hour's total practice over the past few years. No wonder I couldn't pick the lock. Great, isn't it? no You see, the core can be as strong as it wants, but the mechanism can easily break due to play. You can use a thin piece of metal, plastic, or something else that you can jiggle and press against the locking tab. Even if it is firmly attached to the trailer, it can still be opened. It takes a minute, but is still faster than a grinder. All locks are an illusion of security. It's less like a smokescreen and more like a streak of smoke from a freshly blown out candle. I don't recommend this for anything other than visual safety. At least it was cheap.
