Review on Cry Babies Goodnight Starry Daisy by Tricia Taylor

Be prepared to cry a lot

I have mixed feelings about Crybaby. Yes, she cries, plays a few songs and lights up the ceiling, but nothing of high quality - so-so. However, our 3 year old daughter loves the doll and comforts her when she cries... and that happens all too often in our home. One of the reasons I don't like the doll is her annoying crying and I swear she even cries with the pacifier in her mouth. Projected lighting is very average; We have other toys that are much better at installing ceiling displays. Music and crying volume is not adjustable, but can be turned off completely for people like me who get annoyed by repeated crying. Fortunately, the volume is very quiet. Replacing batteries is not an easy task - IMC toys couldn't be tighter to allow fingers to get inside the doll. When Cry Baby first came out we thought the audio was very quiet, perhaps due to the weak batteries that came with it. The fresh ones made the same little noises, and putting new batteries in Crybaby wasn't much fun. The doll plays five lullabies while the projector light is on; After all the songs are played, the star projections also stop. The LED-lit teardrops are a nice touch. Crybaby has a detachable hood and a cute ponytail. I would give this doll three stars but I'm sure our three year old daughter would give it five stars - she carries it with her all day and takes the doll to bed. The golden mean between an adult and a child is four stars.
