I wanted to add USB 3 ports to my custom build that only supports USB 2. This card adds two external USB 3 ports as well as one internal USB 3 19-pin connector. Connected to a Rosewill USB 3 card reader which has a USB 3 port on the front which is very convenient. As expected, the speed has improved significantly compared to USB 2. Windows 7 requires the installation of drivers, which can be downloaded from the StarTech website. After a reboot everything worked fine. Pros: 19-pin internal USB connector. Two external USB 3 ports Cons: Expensive.
