I was looking for a trail bike that didn't let the small sharp rocks and sand get in the way. I tried several combinations but ended up with a closed toe and heel. They are very roomy, I had too much room in the toe box. I have a wide foot and a bone. I added dr. school, and they caught up the gap. I was still concerned that they felt a half size too long, but they looked good and there were no bumps or toe rubs on the trail. It still seems very long and roomy, but they do the job. I think the smaller size might take away all the freedom of his toes. Beautiful color purple. It's damn good. Your sister will laugh at you, but very badly!
