, I just wanted to give my own review; because I disagree with some others who claim to know the "right" way of setting this up. It seems to me that they are using the wrong holes; but it's also possible that they use a different type of computer, so here's my take. I am setting up RAID1 on an HP Z220 Slim form factor; So it's a bit older, but I can't waste the wonderful Xeon processor because these business workstations are cheap and make a great HTPC with a flat Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 OC card to boot. Anyway, I have a primary SSD and 2 3.5 drivers; So it's tight, but I don't need an internal optical drive, and a 3.5 to 5.25 adapter will fit a second 3.5 hard drive in the 5.25 slot. In my picture you can see that you insert the drive with the external "block head" screws into the slots, which then "snap" when you press that green button to remove. This adapter worked PERFECTLY with one bug. In order to line up the holes properly you will need to use the holes along the bottom of the bracket (not the 'sliding' ones you see in the other photo) which means you won't be able to line up the screwdriver correctly. On my photo you can see that I always screw in the bracket at an angle. no The screw enters DIRECTLY, but the screwdriver is at an ANGLE; So it does some fancy tightening, but you can work on that or use something to tighten the flathead hole. Finally, I deduct a star; because in universal design it implies some "stupidity" but this adapter is SUPER CHEAP and others charge 2-3 times more for some simple metal mounts. I always go to StarTech for weird or outdated parts; So this will not disappoint and hopefully help someone else as this 'screwless' mounting system is quite common and now you know what to expect so you don't have to request a return.
