After hand cleaning each knuckle and noticing how messy it gets playing on my clean granite kitchen counter, I looked for a solution. I hadn't even thought of a playmat. In fact, I had no idea playmats existed. After searching, however, I found several and settled on this one. This mat is perfect for our needs. Not only does the dominoes stay clean, the noise level is noticeably reduced, and the size is good. If we want to move our game to a patio table, that's no problem. The mat flattens out quickly even though it arrived rolled up in a cardboard box in a carry bag. If we want to take it on vacation, it is easy to carry. It was a good buy. It saves my desk space and is nice and comfortable to play with. The colors are nice and bright too. My only problem is that I don't know what these (Japanese I think) characters mean!
