As a botanist, the standard two-outlet wall outlets are pretty much useless to me. So I ordered a large number of popular Belkin 6 outlet surge protectors. They are great and I have no complaints but I found this one and thought it might be worth a try as it costs less and still has great reviews. I'm pretty sure I won't be buying Belkins again after using it. Both have 6 sockets and 2 USBs, so functionally they are not much different. But this one looks a little prettier and better quality and is MUCH cheaper. Depending on the location of the outlet, sometimes I prefer the USB ports on the top (Belkin) and sometimes on the front (this one), so the USB port isn't very good. in the middle, so make sure you have the screw right in the middle of the plate. You will need to remove the screw and use the one that came with the kit. Actually, you don't need to remove the socket, only the screw. Only your top outlet on the wall is actually electrically connected to this device, the bottom one is just not electrically connected for added stability. A large negative that I have attempted to demonstrate in the attached images above is the green "protected" light. All it takes is a tiny LED display. Instead, you get a fully-fledged night light that cannot be turned off. So for main living areas and bedrooms I wouldn't recommend this just for the light. For the kitchen, behind furniture, hallways etc. this is not a problem and I can highly recommend it. * Summary * Pros: [+] Beautiful looks, high quality [+] 2 USB ports for easy charging of all your devices[+] 2.4 amps are enough to charge almost any phone/tablet[+] Easy to install/ configure Cons: [-] The green "protected" light makes it a de facto night light - VERY bright.
