Color as described, gem top is the same gold color as the rest of the piece which I really liked. What frustrated me was that when the tin was opened, the top piece of metal holding the mirror fell out. You could see the glue used didn't work and I had to try hot glue it back in place. Hot glue didn't work, by the way. I am not returning the item as I really like the look but now I need to buy some glue to hold it together properly. All in all I knew the product was affordable so my expectations weren't that high, I just didn't want it to fall apart.
