It looks really beautiful, especially at dawn or dusk it captures some of the warmth of the sky. You can see a little more color live than in the photos: more pink, orange, green, blue. Looks almost like frost and leaves iridescent shards in the room. I got this to protect my plants and furniture from sun damage in my south facing apartment. It blocks a decent amount of light. I can tell by the shadow it casts. Obviously it doesn't block all the light. It also dampens headlight flares from below, which is nicer, although I didn't really bother with that before. This may not completely block people from seeing through your windows, but it does provide reasonable privacy. People could obviously see piercing light and possibly blurred silhouettes, but I'm not sure. It would be easier to apply if you had two people. If you start to install it crookedly or out of place, it can be difficult to move it to where you want it. I did it myself and it wasn't bad, but another person would help and probably make the results a bit more accurate. I just used water and a squeegee and it really stuck! Factory edges aren't perfectly straight, and neither will yours if you don't try. But it doesn't matter. I wouldn't recommend trimming it to fit if you have taped it to windows. The instructions say so, but it's a good way to scratch the glass or cut the window frame. Also, the less you work with it, the better. Just try wrapping a package that already has too much tape in it. This is what it looks like. I'll be buying more to complete the project now that I've tested it. I might just end up getting other blinds that can cover the bottom of the windows when the roof is open. They won't really do the job in the long run. At the same time, it reduces sun damage and looks beautiful.
