I love these spoons! Not only are they super cute, but because they're so flexible, I can scoop anything out of my baby food jars, which just can't be done with harder spoons. The design is also very suitable for teething children. My son teethes and bites his spoon when he eats. He doesn't lose any food and it soothes his gums. I would recommend waiting until your child is able to bite (even sticky ones) as spoons have a large side. My son struggled with this for the first few weeks so switched to a narrower and flatter spoon. Once he learned to bite (tongue down while covering his mouth with a spoon) we tried again and this spoon was perfect. That's all we're using now. My son can eat big bites without wasting food (except when trying to smile while eating, of course). I haven't been using them for that long so I don't know how long they will last, but they seem really well made.
