Claims that it adds color to healed tattoos are very true. I tested it on some of mine and it worked fine. I didn't buy this balm for that original reason, but to treat fresh tattoos. I'm a big fan of Aquaphor (I've healed over 9 large tattoos with it) but it was also recommended to me so I decided to give it a try. He smells very good. The glass is very small, but that doesn't bother. It's very smooth, you need the smallest piece. However, my main gripe is how slippery it is because it rubs off easily. Aquaphor can come into contact with clothing, but still leaves a layer on it. It will not. It's a good alternative, but not my favorite. However, it's still great.
